A friend of mine asked me to photograph his wedding earlier this year and I was honored to be the person he chose to document such a monumental event both professionally and personally.

His request represented his faith in my talents and it was a very big step in making one of my professional aspirations a reality.

On the personal side, I was witness to the glory of HOPE. For me, hope is an essential component in life. With hope, anything is possible.

Mark and Rosemary had both been married before. They had each experienced disappointment, broken hearts, and, like most folks, the fear they'd never find happiness again. But there they stood...together -- smiling, laughing, loving --certain in their commitment to one another.

In their presence, I discovered I believed hopes and dreams could come true. Their love and happiness was contagious. I'm sure most of you would say weddings tend to make people feel this way, but I've been to plenty of weddings and had never experienced this sort of "awakening" of hope.

I shot hundreds of photos, many of them typical wedding pics, but this particular image is my favorite. The simplicity, the tenderness, the intimacy...it represents everything I think we should all have in our lives. And it's something I dare hope to find for myself one day, both personally and professionally.
