Spring Rain

For my first high school spring break my parents allowed me to go see my sister in Charleston, South Carolina. She was attending college there and I hadn't seen her since Christmas, so I got to stay the whole week. My school's schedule, however, was not the same as her school's so there were times of the day that I found myself sitting in her tiny dorm room watching The Real World reruns and the 100 Hottest People of 2004.

After a while I became rather tired of just sitting around so I decided to walk around the campus. One day I was walking around and came to the center of the campus where her crew team was raising money for their next regatta. The sky was getting dark and it started to rain so I took shelter there.

After the rain calmed down, I went across the walk-way and sat on this bench. Charleston is a very good city for photography because everything looks like it just came back from the American Revolution. And the great thing about the College of Charleston is that it is located in the city. I saw the little leaf just resting there with a hint of rain still on the wood of the bench and I decided to get a shot of it. I really love the background because it is covered in plants and trees and just a peek of an old worn building that has seen many lifetimes.

I have a few more pictures from that week and a lot more memories. I have received lots of compliments on this photograph and I hope to receive yours. Thank you for reading.
