You were gone two sleeps this time. The time before this, it was three

nights. Why do you leave me? I tried to be good this time and not cry too much, but in the middle of the night when I walked up to your pillow and could not find you, it was too much.

Nana did not like it when I tried to wake her up. She called out at me to stop. Instead, I crawled up onto her dresser and crawled into a basket. I knew she would jump out of bed then, because she worries so much about me falling and breaking a leg again. It was quite funny. She thinks because I am blind that I cannot look after myself, but I manage quite nicely. Of course, I do love the attention that my deficiency brings.

I am not sure if I told you, but when you go away, she puts the heating pad on her bed with a little furry blanket. She knows how much I love sleeping in a warm place and when you are not in bed with me, it can be quite chilly.

I usually wait until 2:00 a.m. before I give up on you coming home. Then I walk

into her bedroom and yell loudly to show my disgust. It is not always effective

though. I have found that she can sometimes sleep for quite some time before my

crying will wake her. I am lucky that I am not really in distress; otherwise, a cat could perish before she wakes.

Once she wakes though, it is all worth it. She jumps out of bed and turns my

heating pad on. Then she reaches into a bag of kibbles and places a couple of fresh ones on the furry blanket to entice me there. I pretend that I do not understand what she is doing and that usually brings a session of patting and talking. Once I have had enough attention, I jump up onto the heating pad, eat the kibbles, lie down, and fall asleep.

I just want you to know that I do not like it when you go away. I really, really love you. If you would just look at me right now, you would see that love in my eyes.
