These are 3 out of the 5 most precious things on Earth to me. My husband, who along with my youngest daughter Connie has become my only family. My daughter accepts my love my older kids refuse; they have old wounds from a bad marriage and even worse divorce. My dog Ruby, who was my Christmas present this past year, repesents our ability as a family to rise from the ashes yet again. My husband is a man who is accepting, loving, masculine, and yet compassionate and nurturing. He is my soul mate and I only have known one other man who compares, that being my father. My daughter is the youngest of 7 in a blended family, she has 2 older sisters, who she has never met, but idolizes them through pictures. She is so bright and precocious it's scary.

Ruby is a 4 way mix, lab, rottie, boxer and sharpei. We got Ruby this year, because I wanted a big dog in my life again, and because we went from being unable to feed ourselves a year ago, to being able to share with other families and to feed an animal. We have opened our hearts and doors to friends and family, and it was returned in kind by fate. We don't struggle with whether to eat or pay rent any more. which is a very good thing. All the things in this picture are my precious. The other 2 are Kelly and Susan, my 2 older girls; and if i ever get to have a picture of all 5 together in harmony, my life will be complete.
