When I think back to the summer of 2003, there isn't a lot of good memories that truly stick out for me.
I was in a state of flux in my life, and the real world verus more education was a crossroads I was faced with. The employment that I could achieve wasn't good enough for me and I didn't feel it was challenging. But at the same time, after two years of college, I didn't want to go to university just to do it all over again. I wanted to be done. I wanted my two years to mean something. (In the end, I did end up going to university.)
The person who took the picture and I was having fun with that night is no longer in my life, but the pictures from that night live on, and I smile at the memories. As he took this picture, I started to skip down a regional road, and just get absorbed in the night like a child. I was laughing and I think it's a great picture that really captures me throwing all of my dilemas to the wind and playing like a child.
We should all do that more often.
