That's me! The bride? No, the man shooting the photo of my cousin on her wedding day. Let me explain, that's me... in a couple of years. I want to take pictures for a living and capture the moment of someone's rite of passage. Framing a shot of something no one has ever seen before or even thought to take a second look. I long to utilize the right side of my brain to create art rather than use the left side to build spreadsheets.

To quote Drew Carey "Oh you hate your job? They have a support group for that. Its called EVERYBODY, and we meet at the bar." That wasn't good enough for me though, I couldn't go through life doing a job I hated. I've always known what I wanted, but never understood how to get from point A to point B. It was my husband, Raven who helped me, encouraged me to take pictures, and bought me camera equipment.

It is strange to think that in a few short weeks Ill be taking the first steps toward my dream. Thanks to my husband, Ill be leaving corporate America and going back to school to study photography. This will actually be my first formal photography class this fall; I was a marketing major in college and have had no formal training in photography.

Sometimes I worry that I will fail. Following a dream is never easy, but if it were would it be worth it? Wouldn't everyone just be living their dreams? I feel like I have been biding my time for the past 5 years, just waiting to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. All it took is for someone to believe in me so that I could believe in myself.
