She's a beautiful young lady, isn't she? Look at her eyes. Eyes are a window into one's soul, and I believe this picture shows it. This is Cassie, one of thousands of American girls striving to get past their hardships. To me, she is an inspiration. Attempting to push sexual abuse, death, and family troubles behind her, she comes out strong...by far one of the strongest girls I know. She takes a stand for what's right, and takes a stand for herself and her friends like nobody I have ever seen. She doesn't let anything get past her, or anybody walk over her...something so many people wish they could do.

This picture was taken at my church's youth group. We were playing around with my camera when I held it up and she stroke a pose. After I saw it I was amazed at how her eyes showed her feelings and the depth of her emotions. Thoughtful, strong, sincere, and always ready to step out when needed.

This girl has amazed me since I first met her. She was always optimistic and fun, I never knew what her past had looked like until I got close to her. The day her best friend and cousin died was a day none of us will forget. Nobody close to me has ever died, and after seeing her hurt, I hope nobody close to me ever will die so unexpectedly. Daily she fights the battle to live another day. And daily she lives life to it's full capacity, and I'm thankful for it. Like I said, Cassie is an inspiration to me. For someone to go through the things she's gone through, at such a young age, and still be as awesome and successful at everything she does, is undoubtedly an inspiration to all who cross her path.
