On a week’s notice, 4 best friends decided to take a trip of a lifetime--to Vegas. It's a 26-hour drive, and we did it but taking turns at the wheel. 2 guys and 2 girls rotated at the task of driving. When us girls were not driving we were catching every chance to sleep. When both of us girls are 5' 10" tall it's hard to get comfortable in the back of a blazer. But we managed to fit together in that back seat, catching some sleep before our shift started. 26 hours later we arrived in our destined city of Vegas. All of the cramps and restless hours of napping paid off when we arrived safe and rested enough to win money, lose money, and learn much about our friendship. And true at the end of the trip we wanted to kill each other-but that just made our friendship a bit more special than what it started out as. 4 friends, 2 girls and 2 guys out to take on the world someday-but we just started with Vegas as a warm-up.

Those 5 days of vacation were worth a lifetime to me. I reconnected with 3 of my closest friends. Now and forever we have those days of Vegas, the hours of driving and the moments when we didn't think anyone was watching. From Iowa to Vegas; 26 hour drive, stay in Vegas; 3 days; sites that were breathtaking; millions. From Casinos to Vegas shows to poolside drinks, every moment of this trip was worth the drive. No one wanted to leave-because we new we had to drive back, but as soon as Vegas was behind us we saw a world before us. We each parted a day later after another 26 hour drive back to Iowa. We each are spread out in Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois, but we closer than we started at the beginning of the trip. Would I do it again-sure!! But I think the next time around we fly…
